Bibliotheque Cabinet
Completely original hand painted vintage “bibliotheque” cabinet / hutch painted in light gray with ivory interior. This gorgeous one-of-a-kind cabinet is made of solid wood with intricate carvings from head to toe. The four feet are even carved to resemble a bear's paws! The two doors have glass windows and lock with the original skeleton key. The three interior shelves will show off your books, dishes or collectibles. The three interior shelves are adjustable using wooden saw-tooth supports. The interior is painted in ivory and has a delightful undertone of light pink. The lower portion has one large open shelf which is great for baskets or blankets. Finished with all natural chalk based paint and sealed with a combination of waxes, it has a distressed aged patina for a slightly rustic look. The cabinet is in excellent condition and opens, closes and locks smoothly.
Dating from the 1960's this cabinet was artisan made, along with 8 other pieces, to celebrate a young couples wedding here in France. This high quality hutch is definitely a statement piece which will add a touch of French country charm and a rich history to your home decor.
